Welcome to Gowanbrae

Situated 13km north-west of the Melbourne CBD, Gowanbrae is a residential suburb in the City of Moreland. Subdivided in the 1990s and built on formerly vacant land, Gowanbrae has a population of just under 3,000 people.

Bounded by the Western Ring Road and Tullamarine Freeway, residents enjoy quick and easy access to public transport as well as Melbourne Airport and the Calder Freeway. The Moonee Ponds Creek trail to the east and Western Ring Road Trail provide facilities for cyclists. Local shopping can be found at Westfield shopping centre whilst quality restaurants are a short trip away in Niddrie.

Moreland Council is funding the improvement of the facilities around Gowanbrae through an Open Space Plan. Re-vegetation of native flora species as well as the construction of new playgrounds and footpath links throughout the area are just some of the developments planned for this tight-knit, family-oriented community.
